Popular Nollywood actress, Tonoto Dikeh, says she has forgiven her ex-husband, Churchill Olakunle.

During a live chat with Nigerian Journalist, Dele Momodu, on Sunday, July 27, the actress addressed a couple issues ranging from plastic surgery, career, to talks on depression, love and forgiveness. Speaking on forgiveness the 35 year old mother of one said, “I know that forgiveness is not about the next person but the explanation I got recently really wowed me. It says…I have forgiven you not because you have to be forgiven, I have forgiven you because I do not want to put myself in a place of stagnation when it comes to growth. I do not want to put myself in a place of stagnation when it comes to love, I do not want to put myself in a place of warship, progressing, I don’t want to put myself in a place of stagnatation when it comes to my career. Forgiveness is a whole lot and I only just realized that the bible says that if we do not forgive, God cannot forgive us. All these things are in the bible but it never really made an impact on me until someone really explained it… forgiveness is something that for me, it comes really easy, cause I forgive a lot. I think it’s an essential thing for one’s growth.”

When asked if there was anyone she would never forgive in her life, Tonto continued replying that at the moment there is nobody that she’s yet to forgive or holds a grudge with especially her ex-husband, Churchill Olakunle. She said; “Oh yes, especially him. I forgive him and wish him the best, for my son’s sake. I do. Why not?” Following her chat with Dele, she took to her Instagram in a post reaffirming her stance on forgiveness concluding with, “ALTHOUGH MY FORGIVENESS DONT MEAN I AM STUPID, NOT ALL FORGIVENESS NEEDS RECONNECTION..”

After Tonto and Churchill’s messy divorce in 2017, both parties have since then had heated arguments in public, calling each other out on social media.
