Last weekend, Fatima, daughter of Africa’s richest man; Aliko Dangote tied the knot with her pilot beau, Jamil Abubakar son of former Inspector General of Police Mohammed Abubakar in Kano State, Nigeria.

The president of the country, Muhammadu Buhari and Microsoft co-founder; Bill Gates, was also present at the occasion. President Buhari served as the bride’s guardian and handed her over to the groom’s guardian after receiving payment of N500,000 as dowry stipulated by the Islamic principles.

The 19^th Fulani emir of Kano, Malam Muhammad Sanusi II consummated the marriage contract outlined by islam inside his palace. The Chief Imam of Kano , Professor Sani Zahraddeen led the crowd in supplications.

The ceremony was beautiful with the bride looking like her bank account. Styled by Deola Sagoe and make up by BM Pro, the bride looked ever so stunning smiling all through the event.

Other dignitaried at the wedding ceremony included former head of state, General AbdulSalami Abubakar, Senate Presidents, Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and APC national leader, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu,  numerous Diplomats and notable captains and moguls of various industries.

The vice president was notably absent at the ceremony and this was for a good reason. His daughter wedded the same day in Abuja and the ceremony was simple and classy.
