Lebron James Launches Free School For The Underprivileged
Lebron James has a penchant for philanthropy and helping people through life so it’s no surprise that he decided to start the “I Promise School” which he opened Monday to serve low-income and at-risk students in his hometown in the eastern Ohio city.
According to him, the school will provide free meals, bicycles, transportation and free tuition at the University of Akron for successful graduates of the promise school. The school will also help secure job placements and applications for parents who have kids at the school.
So amazing!
According to James “I Promise will feature longer school days, a non-traditional school year, and greater access to the school, its facilities, and its teachers during downtime for students. That’s a formula aimed at replicating some of the at-home support children may be missing when it comes to schoolwork. The school has also anchored its curriculum in math and science-based teaching, dipping into the STEM — science, technology, engineering, and math — a curriculum that prepares students for the jobs of the future.”
