American best-selling author, Katherine Schwarzenegger and her husband, Chris Pratt have welcomed their first child together.

News of their daughter’s birth was first confirmed by Katherine’s brother, Patrick Schwarzenegger. This was followed by an Instagram post by the couple on their respective Instagram pages on Monday, August 10, announcing the birth of their daughter, Lyla Pratt, writing; “We are beyond thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter, Lyla Maria Schwarzenegger Pratt. We couldn’t be happier. Both mom and baby are doing great. We are extremely blessed. Love Katherine and Chris.”The “Jurassic World” star also quoted two bible verses from Psalms expressing their joy following the birth of their little one, who they named after Katherine’s mother, Maria Shriver.

The couple reportedly started dating in 2018 and eventually got married a year after in June. Although this is the Katherine’s first child with Pratt, the 41 year old actor shares an 8 year old son with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.
