“I Had Liposuction and Became Addicted to Opioids Because i Didn’t Want To Be Called Fat Like Rob”: Kanye West shares.
Kanye West has finally shared more details on what led to his hospitalization in November 2016.
He had an interview with TMZ and revealed that he was addicted to opioids after getting liposuction in order to look “right” and to look good for his fans.
“Two days before I was in the hospital, I was on opioids,” he said. “I was addicted to opioids.”
This must have been especially difficult for him because his mother died due to complications from cosmetic surgery.
Kanye said he just didn’t want anyone calling him fat like they did with his brother-in-law Rob Kardashian.
“I had plastic surgery because I was trying to look good for y’all,” he stated. “I got liposuction because I didn’t want y’all to call me fat like y’all called Rob at the wedding and made him fly home before me and Kim got married. I didn’t want y’all to call me fat so I got liposuction.”
He shared that at one time he was addicted to the opioids he was given to manage post-operative pain. “They gave me opioids, right? And I started taking two of them and then driving to work on the opioids,” he said.
Kanye, however, stated that he is in a much better place now in his sit-down interview with Charlamagne the God earlier today.
“I think I’m in a stronger place than I ever was after the breakdown, or I like to say the breakthrough,” he said. He added that it was caused by “fear, stress, being controlled and manipulation.”
“I’m happy it happened. I’m happy to have gone to the other side and back,” he said.
